Candle Burning Tips and Safety

Extend the life of your beautiful candles ..heres some safety guidelines to keep your home safe and tips to keep your candles looking gorgeous.

Do not attempt to handle or remove the crystals from the candle when the wax is hot or whilst lit.  As the wax liquifies on the first burn the crystals will gently glide beneath the wax.  Our crystals are carefully placed away from the wick so that they do not effect the burn.  Your candle will burn beautifully all the way to the edge. 

Never leave a lit candle unattended ,  keep away from children, pets curtains and loose fabrics and out of draughts. Avoid being close to fans, air conditioners , heat pumps.  

Do not burn in children's bedrooms.

Always burn on a heat resistant surface ie a coaster.

Do not touch or move a candle while its burning or while the wax is liquified. 

Do not touch or move a candle until its completely cooled.

Don't burn when young children are around.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Do not go to sleep whilst a candle it burning.

Don't burn a candle all the way down.  For safety allow 1inch of wax in the container.

1). The first burn is the most important.  Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the vessel every time this avoids tunnelling.   If the candle isn't burnt for long enough it will create a "memory ring" and each subsequent burn it will continue to tunnel down for the rest of its life,  wasting your candles maximum burn time. 

Let your candle cool and reset for about two hours before beginning another burn.

2)  Trim the wick before every burn - before lighting, trim the wick to 1/4 inch using scissors or a wick trimmer for a clean safe burn & increased candle lifespan.

Wicks that are left untrimmed can become to long and can cause uneven burning, it will likely 'mushroom' causing smoking & flaring .  

Your candle will burn up to  25% longer if you trim it after each burn.

2). Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the vessel every time this avoids tunnelling. 

3) Do not burn your candle for longer than 3 hours at a time.

 All products are made at our Waikuku Beach Studio and are sent via NZ POST COURIERS .   

Target Delivery Times For Canterbury deliveries you'll often receive your order the next business day and for the rest of the South Island you're likely to also receive them the next day, but do allow 2 - 3 days just in case.  North Island, please allow 2-3 Days.  Rural add an additional 2-3 days. 

However no guarantees can be made and there's always a small chance because couriers may face unexpected delays due to weather, airport closures and Cook Strait crossings.  Every order is Tracked and if I have your email address these details are emailed to you, so you can stay updated with the progress of your orders journey until it arrives at your doorstep! :)

Website orders are processed at 7am Weekdays, any orders received after 7am will be processed the follow day.  Orders placed over the weekend will be packaged and sent out on Monday.

NZ orders over $99 receive Free Shipping NZ Wide or a $12.99 flat rate on all other orders within New Zealand.

Australian Shipping is via NZ Post (tracked) and takes 5-13 business days. Costs for orders $0 - $75 is $18 Costs for orders $75 - $150 is $29.90

All New Zealand orders are dispatched from our studio in Christchurch via NZ POST. 

• Orders delivered to Australia will be processed in NZD
• Orders delivered to Australia will not be charged GST
• Your final cost will be displayed on the order confirmation step once an Australian delivery address has been provided.
• Orders are sent signature NOT required, we are not responsible if you're order is stolen. 

We carefully pack your order and dispatch it first thing the morning following your confirmed order.  Orders are generally dispatched prior to 8.45am.

Please note we can not deliver to PO boxes .

Please ensure you have a safe dry spot your courier knows about to keep your parcel safe from sight and wet weather.

We can not be responsible if your courier leaves your parcel on a soggy lawn in the rain where a dog may chew at it!

We do a loving job of packaging your gorgeous candles , and take great care to protect them during transit to ensure they arrive in all their glory for the perfect unboxing experience that you deserve.

Shipping & Returns Policy

It's important to us that you love your candle - if you're not happy then neither are we.  In the rare circumstance you should be unhappy with your order,  we will fully refund or exchange for you. 

The cost of shipping will not be refunded and the refund will be processed once we receive the product.  The product must not have been burnt and must be received back to us within 7 days of your request for a refund.  Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund too.

Damages & Issues 

Please inspect your candle when you receive it,  contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, or your just not happy drop us a line so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.  

The product must not have been burnt and must be received back to us within 7 days of your request for a refund.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method.  The cost of shipping will not be refunded and the refund will be processed once we receive the product.  The product must not have been burnt and must be received back to us within 7 days of your request for a refund.  Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund too.

 If you wish to set inentions or manifest, find some time when you know you're not going to be interrupted.. If you have young kids it's a really nice practice to quietly get up 30 minutes earlier than anyone else to top your own cup up for the day!

Every candle comes with affirmation cards that align specifically to each individual LightSeed & their purpose.   You may choose to use ours or create your own intentions.  Just remember to state them out LOUD!  Because this is where the shifts really begin.  Speak it, believe it , feel it , visualise it .

Stating affirmations help plant positive seeds to grow, they help overcome negative thoughts, use to empower self belief and confidence, affirmations are also a powerhouse for motivation.. Top athletes dont go out to compete telling themselves they might win if they're lucky!  

Ok you're ready !

1. Settle yourself into beautiful ritual space.. if you like prepare a cup of your favourite tea, get comfortable and light your candle.  Relax & soften your eyes as you cast your gaze across the flames, you'll soon naturaly ease into a calm state of being.

Have a journal near by & jot down any thoughts or guidance that may drop in.   

2. Set intentions and manifest by getting specific about a particular goal or desire.

3. Write your intentions down - be specific here & realistic.  Be willing to do the work to recieve what it is your callling in.

4. Visualise it as thou you have it, what does it feel like?  smell it , touch it, hear it .. imagine experincing it with all your senses.

5. Be prepared to do the work to recieve what it is your calling in.

6. You have planted the seeds, trust that they will germinate and grow. 

7. Take note of the signs, write them down and step forward into anything that aligns with what your calling in.

Release tension you're becoming open to recieve intuitive insights and clarity - it's often the moments in relaxed calm that the mind will begin to wander  this is the space clear guidance often shows up in.

1. Acknowledge the feelings of unease and tension - breathe in deeply and exhale slowly.  As you breathe in allow yourself to soften and release all that presents.   If tears fall allow them to release.

You may find it helps to write your negative thoughts down and later burn the paper in your fire or take the paper outside to light with a match.
